Challenger Model Will Be Close To Concept
According to a news article on detnews.com, the 2008 Dodge Challenger will be nearly identical to the concept introduced at the Detroit auto show, Chrysler officials said. They went on to say “You’re not going to be able to tell the difference,” said Tom Tremont, Chrysler’s vice president and top designer. “We’re going to keep the Challenger as close as we can to the concept.”
Being that the Challenger concept was designed using the LX platform which is the basis for the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger, Dodge will not have to reinvent the wheel so to speak. This will definately make the Challenger easier to go from concept to production in alot shorter time than most new vehicles.

Anyone know the base price for the new Challenger? I heard it was 50k and you will wait a year for one. Is this true?

I dont think the price will be that high, I expect it to be around $30K. The price has to be comparable to the Ford Mustang or it won’t sell. I also expect the 2009/10 Camaro price to be similar to.
