Dodge To Build Only 5,000 Challengers in 2008
News from Chrysler this past week is they will only be producing 5,000 Dodge Challengers for 2008. Chrysler Corp. has said all along they want to keep the Challenger a low-volumne model for the first year and then in the second year increase production to around 30,000 units with other model choices. All 2008 models will be the 6.1 Liter SRT version with an Automatic Transmission, no manual for 2008. Chrysler has also said for 2009 the increase in production will also inlcude a 6.1 and 5.7 Liter HEMI model along with your choice of a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic, or a dual-clutch transmission. No V6 model has been planned for the future.
For now we wait till the Chicago Auto Show in February 2008 where Chrysler will debut the Challenger to the public.

that doesn’t sound good at all only 30,000 in 2009 model year well lets just say they will have no problem selling all the challengers

Once again another F-up By upper managment at CHRYSLER. Ford did not have any problem offering a varity of options on the Mustangs and when GM offers the new Camaro. And they will Sell like HOT CAKES!!!
Chryslers Dealers no dought will jack up the price over sticker just like they did when they launched any other limited edition car. Chrysler never builds what the customer wants. I will have to wait for the manual in 2009?

yea the manual wont be out until 09 same with different colors of the car all 08’s will be orange with black stripes auto with the 6.1 liter hemi

the 2008 dodge challenger SRT8 will cost $37,995 it will be available in 3 colors black orange and silver you can start trying to order one at your dealership Dec 3

don’t forget to add the gas guzzler tax so that will bring it up over $40,000 and whatever dealer markup they may add to the car

Don’t forget that these ‘08 models will come with # placks inside and probably be marked up depending on that #. We have one ordered and we are VERY excited to get it! In regards to the 6.1 liter - I can’t imagine having anything else under the hood of this ride! We are talking about the RE-BIRTH of a classic “MUSCLE” car gentleman.

THE CHALLENGER IS AWESOME A TRUE MUSCLE CAR WITH ROOM TO DO SOMETHING. UNLIKE A VETTE THAT IS A NICE RIDE BUT YOU CAN’T TAKE ANYTHING WITH YOU AND ONLY BRING 1 PERSON ALONG. THE CHALLENGER IS WELL WORTH IT FOR STYLE ROOM PERFORMANCE THAT DONE RIGHT WILL LEAVE ANY VETTE IN THE DUST AND HAUL THE MAIL AT THE SAME TIME. I AGREE CORPORATE CHRYSLER NEEDS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW TO TO BUSINESS THE PRODUCT IS THERE AND IS PROVEN EVERYTIME THEY GET A GOOD THING THE BUSINESS MINDS SCREW IT UP ROYALLY. D.ALDRICH
