Mopar Bringing Dodge Challenger Blacktop To SEMA

Dodge will be well represented at this year’s SEMA show with at least three custom Challengers we know of including the above vehicle, the Challenger Blacktop courtesy of the Mopar underground design team.  The Dodge Challenger Blacktop began life as a 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and six-speed manual transmission. The Mopar Underground design team added custom made spoilers and front brow. To give the Challenger a menacing look a black-on-black racing stripe paint scheme was added. The lowered stance and superb handling characteristics are accomplished by the Mopar coil-over suspension and strut tower brace.  The Challenger Blacktop rolls on massive 22-inch Dodge Viper wheels from Factory Reproductions wrapped in Dunlop tires measuring 265/35 R22 front and 305/30 R22 rear. To ensure the powertrain can keep up with the suspension, underhood performance is enhanced. The addition of Mopar components, including a cat back dual-exhaust, cold air intake, allow the HEMI V8 to breathe easy. The interior has been enhanced with Katzkin leather seating finished in bright red plus a Mopar Kicker audio system for premium sound.

Looks like this will be one bad azz Challenger.  High-res photo after the jump…

Challenger SRT10 Concept with Viper V10 headed to SEMA

The 2008 SEMA show is shaping up to be really big for the Dodge Challenger and it just got bigger with news that a viper powered Challenger SRT10 concept will make it’s debut.  The Challenger SRT10 concept is a one-of-a-kind vehicle from the great minds over at SRT engineering.  The Challenger comes with the Dodge Viper 8.4-liter, all-aluminum V-10 engine with 600 horsepower and 560 lb. ft. of torque. The Challenger SRT10 Concept includes a fresh coat of Tornado Red paint with a carbon-fiber deck lid and hood. The “shaker hood” is a nostalgic representation of the 1970 HEMI Cuda, giving the 600-hp Viper V10 engine room to breathe. Brakes have been upgraded and BILSTEIN shocks at all four corners improve handling balance. The interior boasts sport seats and carbon-fiber accents throughout and a red engine start push-button in the dash.

Could this be the answer to the Shelby GT500 or is this just another tease from Dodge?

The Wide Body Challenger is being prepped for the 2008 SEMA show in Las Vegas via the expertise of master fabricator ‘Topo’. K&N High-Flow Intake System For 2009 Challenger 3.5L V6

63-1117_KN.jpg

Are you looking to add a few extra horses to your Challenger, well K&N has come through again with a high-flow intake system for your 2009 Dodge Challenger with the 3.5L V6.  The K&N filter system (part#63-1117) increases horsepower by 11.68 hp at 6215 rpm over the stock Dodge Challenger intake configuration.  To make the extra horses K&N replaces the Challenger’s original intake assembly; including the air box, air filter and intake tube with an all-new intake design. The new system draws air through a K&N High-Flow Air Filter that increases airflow and dirt capacity, and never needs to be replaced.

Protecting the chrome top cone-shaped air filter, and isolating it from engine heat, is a powder coated heat shield that replaces the Challenger’s stock air box. As it passes the filter, air travels through a K&N Roto-Molded Polyethylene Tube that is formed and shaped, in the design phase, to drive a more laminar flow of air to the Challenger’s 3.5L V6 engine.

The K&N filter system is part # 63-1117 with a price of $321.00 at Amazon and all other outlets where K&N products are sold.  Installation is a breeze and can be done in 90 minutes or less.  K&N Filters are back by the Million Mile Limited Warranty as all K&N OE Replacement Air Filters.
